One-Vehicle-One-Tag Campaign By IHMCL

Dear SBI FASTag Customer,

Notice 1

As per NPCI instructions, your FASTAG will be closed if it is issued on Chasis number and correct Vehicle Registration Number not updated within 90 days. Please update correct vehicle number as per Registration Certificate (RC), by visiting SBI FASTAG customer portal --> Vehicle Number Update menu.

Notice 2

We hope this message finds you well. This is to inform you about an important update regarding the usage of FASTag from regulator side.We would like to bring to your attention below points:-

  1. Only recent FASTag issued on your vehicle will be considered as your active FASTag.
  2. Update in the tag that is hotlisted/blacklisted will not be allowed.
  3. Update tag to a VRN having previous hotlisted/Black listed tag, the updated tag will be closed. Incase the hotlisted/blacklisted tag is of Paytm tag, then it will be ignored and VRN update will be allowed.
  4. Tags present in "Hotlist","Blacklist" will not to be added into tag force closure list (during Tag Registration and Update)
  5. In case a tag added to "Low balance"" under Forceful Tag Closure(FTC), is the only active tag left on the VRN at the time of closure (on T+15th Day), that tag will not be "Closed".
  6. When a tag is added or updated, and there are multiple tags against the Vehicle and both the tags are having same issue date, then the tag having older creation date/timestamp will be considered for force closure (added in "Low balance"). (Paytm tag will be considered for this activity)
  7. New tag issuance will be allowed on the Vehicle if there is only 1 previously active tag on the vehicle. However, previous tag of Paytm won’t be considered as active tag.
  8. In case any tag of a VRN is updated, All the previous tags will be considered under FTC utility. Paytm Tags will also be considered in this scenario.
  9. Tags added to "Low balance" will get closed during the scheduler run at every 15th day.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in this matter. This update is aimed at improving the overall FASTag experience and smooth functioning of the FASTag system.

As per NPCI & IHMCL guidelines, Know Your Vehicle (KYV) has been implemented in Agent Portal for obtaining the vehicle images for tag activation. Kindly note as soon as tag is registered (with existing process flow and documents) it will be moved to hotlist status and agents need to upload the below images on portal for tag to be made active:-

  • Front Image must clearly capture Affixation of Tag and vehicle registration number.
  • Side Image must carry capture the Vehicle axles.  
  • A clear image of the tag affixed on windscreen where barcode should be visible. 

No Loose tags (tags given in hand) to be given to the customer otherwise penalty will be imposed by Channel Partner. Penalty of Rs,10,000 per tag will be recovered in addition to other penalties.
